The Toronto Blue Jays are looking to fortify their lineup this offseason and Joey Votto could be a target.

Votto has the third-most Baseball-Reference WAR of any Canadian-born player and is a native of Toronto.

Blue Jays general manager Ross Atkins said at the GM Meetings that signing Votto is "definitely something that we would have to consider if that was something he wanted to pursue."

Votto, 40, is a free agent for the first time in his career after the Cincinnati Reds declined his $20 million club option on Nov. 4.
