Steve Finley was activated from the disabled list by the Angels before Thursday night's game against the Twins. The 40-year-old Finley, in his first season with the Angels, missed 18 games with a strained right shoulder. It was his first stint on the DL since 1997. Finley batted just .225 with eight homers and 39 RBI during the first half. He was in Thursday's lineup, batting seventh and playing center field. Angels manager Mike Scioscia said he would gradually ease Finley back in and evaluate him every couple weeks to make sure his swing doesn't affect the injury.
