At the end of the regular season, with the innings controversy involving Matt Harvey and the New York Mets a few weeks old, Scott Boras purchased an insurance policy on his client.

Boras was persistent about a 180 innings limit on Harvey, who is still recovering from Tommy John surgery. With the Mets now in the NLCS, Harvey has thrown a total of 202 innings in 2015.

"The insurance is a two-tiered type, with a certain payout if there's a loss of earnings based on a slippage of performance, and a different payout if his promising career ends early," writes Jon Heyman.

The value of the policy isn't known, but isn't unlikely to cover the potential $200 million payday the right-hander could enjoy as a free agent three years from now.
