Jason Hammel is scheduled to start Game 4 of the NLCS for the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday night.

Despite naming Hammel his starter, Joe Maddon left himself room to make a change.

"As of right now, it's Hammel," Maddon said. "Absolutely, yes."

Maddon didn't indicate what would change that plan, though he has indicated Hammel has been available in the bullpen.

Hammel lasted just three innings in a playoff start against the St. Louis Cardinals on Oct. 13. He threw 49 pitches and allowed two earned runs on three hits and three walks.
