Josh Hamilton's contract with the Los Angeles Angels contains language that would allow them to terminate or reduce the deal if he is physically/mentally incapacitated due to substance abuse, according to a report.

However, the Joint Drug Agreement still supersedes contractual clauses of this nature, so it remains unclear if the Angels would be able to take any form of action.

Hamilton has salaries of $23 million this season and a total of $60 million over the next two campaigns.

The Major League Baseball Players Association has already issued a statement rejecting the idea that the Angels have the ability to do so.
