Carlos Carrasco was taken to a hospital and treated for a bruised jaw after he was hit in the face by a line drive off the bat of Melky Cabrera on Tuesday night.

Carrasco was leveled by the sharp liner that appeared to glance off his glove and right hand before smacking him on the right side of the face

Following the game, the Cleveland Indians said X-rays and a CT scan on Carrasco were negative and he only suffered a bad bruise.

"In the big picture, we dodged a really big bullet," Terry Francona said. "Really fortunate."
