The Twins beat the Angels 1-0 in 10 innings on Saturday night thanks in part to a tremendous performance from pitcher Anthony Swarzak. Swarzak didn't know he'd be starting for Minnesota until the night before when the team announced that Francisco Liriano couldn't pitch because of a sore shoulder. He held the Angels hitless one out into the eighth inning. He gave up a one-out double in the eighth to Peter Bourjos, the only hit of the game for the Angels. "I grabbed the ball, threw the ball down and hoped for the best. Maybe I should do that every time," Swarzak said.
