The Angels have opened up talks with outfielder Bobby Abreu on a contract, but nothing is close.
Abreu signed a one-year, $5 million deal with the Angels last winter. He took a severe pay cut after making $16 million with the Yankees in 2008.
Jon Heyman of Sports Illustrated wrote on Monday that "the sides are thought to be far apart at this point."
RealGM Note: Abreu was ranked 51st in terms of season FIC, 'deserving' to make $12.25M, giving him a Reina Value of +145%.
