Tigers reliever Joel Zumaya isn't expected to be ready for Opening Day because of a neck cramp that could keep him from throwing until later this week.
"I doubt very much that he'll be ready for Opening Day unless something happens in a hurry," Leyland said of Zumaya.
"He really hasn't pitched in two years."
The neck cramp is just the latest in a long line of injuries that include a torn tendon in his right middle finger, a damaged right shoulder, and a fracture of his shoulder.
