Mets third baseman David Wright has recorded more total bases than anyone else in franchise history. Wright's fifth-inning single off San Diego's Cory Luebke on Thursday at Citi Field gave him 2,048 total bases, surpassing Ed Kranepool's record of 2,047. "Ed's around the field quite a bit, so it's pretty cool, I guess," Wright said after a 3-2 loss to the Padres. "I wish we could have done it in a win."
