Dodgers right fielder Andre Ethier established a new MLB record for the month of April by extending his hitting streak to 23 games with a first-inning, RBI double off Marlins right-hander Chris Volstad in his team's 4-2 loss.
Ethier broke the record held by former Dodgers manager Joe Torre, who hit in 22 consecutive games in April 1971 for the Cardinals.
