The Rays have decided to give Manny Ramirez, who is hitting just .063 to begin the season, a break. He has just one hit in his first 16 at-bats and is out of the team's lineup on Wednesday against the Angels. "We talked a little bit and then decided not to play him today," Rays manager Joe Maddon said. "I know it's early in the season, but nevertheless, I think he's still pressing a bit. I really think that he's trying to carry too much of this load right now. He's trying to be too much right now." Maddon said Ramirez will also sit out Thursday's game against the White Sox because of a family matter.
