The Tigers have made it to the World Series on the strength of their starting pitching and almost in spite of their superstar hitters.

Miguel Cabrera, the assumed AL MVP and Triple Crown winner, is hitting .278/.366/.444 with one home run in nine playoff games. Those numbers are down significantly from his regular season line of .330/.393/.606 with 44 home runs and 139 RBI.

Meanwhile, Prince Fielder has been even less productive. He's hitting .211/.268/.289 with a single home run in the playoffs. Of his eight postseason hits, seven have been singles. He had a line of .313/.412/.528 with 30 home runs and 108 RBI in the regular season.

Will the Giants continue to keep the duo in check?

Or will the Tigers support their pitchers even more with an offensive explosion?
