The Athletics have called up infielder Adam Kennedy just one day after acquiring him from the Rays.

He hit eighth for Oakland on Saturday against Toronto.

Kennedy, a 10-year major league veteran and MVP of the 2002 ALCS while with the Angels, had been assigned to Sacramento on Friday.
