Derek Jeter got the 1,270th hit of his career at Yankee Stadium in the bottom of the first inning against the White Sox on Tuesday night. Jeter hit a grounder into left field past third baseman Juan Uribe to break a tie with Lou Gehrig for the most hits ever at Yankee Stadium. He acknowledged the crowd while at first base. Jeter recorded the hit against Gavin Floyd, the starter for Chicago in Game Two of a three-game series between the two teams.
