Pete Rose Files Lawsuit Against John Dowd

Pete Rose filed a federal defamation lawsuit today against John Dowd, who oversaw the investigation that led to Rose's ban from baseball, for claims Dowd made last summer that Rose had underage girls delivered to him at spring training and that he committed statutory rape.

Air Force Issues Apology To Derek Jeter Over Posting

The U.S. Air Force has apologized to Derek Jeter after an active-duty member posted a photo on Facebook of a citation issued to the retired Yankees shortstop for boating in a restricted area near MacDill Air Force Base on Monday.

Jeter, who lives on Tampa's Davis Island, was stopped by Air Force security forces on July 4 and ticketed $250 plus a $30 processing fee.

The issue came to light because of the Facebook post.

Jung Ho Kang Investigated For Alleged Sexual Assault

Pittsburgh Pirates infielder Jung Ho Kang is being investigated by Chicago police over an allegation of sexual assault.

Kang has not been charged with a crime. He is considered a "person of interest" in this investigation, which is still in the information-gathering and evidence collection phase.

The Pirates said in a statement Tuesday that they were aware of the allegation.
