The Giants have released outfielder Aaron Rowand and infielder Miguel Tejada, after designating both veterans for assignment last week, according to an ESPN.com report. The Giants placed Rowand and Tejada on waivers Thursday for the purpose of their unconditional release, the team said.

The Blue Jays have released left-hander Brian Tallet. Toronto designated Tallet for assignment on Wednesday, less than 24 hours after he surrendered a walk-off win to Baltimore. The Jays acquired Tallet from the Cardinals in July.
