Tigers outfielder Magglio Ordonez said Monday night he will have an MRI exam today on his left heel, which has caused him pain much of the season. Ordonez said he and the club want to make sure there is nothing seriously wrong with the heel that requires something be done to it in the off-season. For now, Ordonez plans to give it plenty of off-season rest. The pain caused Ordonez to sit out Sunday, but he showed no effects of the problem in Monday night's game, going 1-for-3 with a walk. Even if the heel causes Ordonez to miss more games, he has enough at-bats to qualify for the American League batting title, which appears to be his to lose.
