Barry Bonds realizes that records are meant to be broken and would be happy if Alex Rodriguez eclipsed 73 homers this season. "I would be ecstatic. It wouldn't bother me one bit," Bonds said as he held court in the Giants' dugout during batting practice. When asked if he was serious, he said, "Hell yeah, because, man, that's what the game's about, excitement, bringing people to the stadium. Somebody else does it, that's awesome. Go on, A-Rod, do your damn thing. Keep that look in your eyes because it's solid. "A-Rod, I'm so happy for him. It's great. It's phenomenal to watch. I hope you guys enjoy it, too, because it is just phenomenal. I hope he hits 100, I really do."
