Jason Kipnis, who was a two-time All-Star with the Cleveland Guardians, has officially announced his retirement from baseball.

The 35-year-old last played with the Chicago Cubs in 2020. He was a second-round draft pick of the Guardians in 2009.

"My mind and body just aren't up for the commitment anymore," Kipnis said in a social media post. "Frustrating at first, but there's only one feeling I'm left with that stands out above all ... Gratitude."

Kipnis hit .260 with a .333 on-base percentage, 126 homers, 529 RBIs and 136 stolen bases in 1,165 career games.
