The Chicago Cubs have announced that Theo Epstein will step down as President of Baseball Operations, effective Nov. 20.

Epstein came to the Cubs from the Boston Red Sox nine seasons ago.

Jed Hoyer, who joined Chicago in 2011 as Executive Vice President/General Manager, will be promoted to President of Baseball Operations.

Epstein helped end the Cubs' World Series drought during his tenure.
