Francisco Lindor is due to become a free agent following the 2021 season and it appears unlikely the Cleveland Indians will re-sign him.

Given the recent market for free agents and extensions, Lindor is likely a $300-million player.

Lindor was asked on Thursday about staying with Cleveland, specifically whether the club can afford to retain him.

"Of course. It's a billion-dollar team," he said.

Lindor then noted Major League Baseball recently signed a new $3 billion television deal with TBS. Also, MLB signed a $5.1 billion extension with Fox that begins in 2022.

He reportedly turned down a contract extension with the Indians in the past, including a $100 million deal back in 2017.
