The Washington Nationals have reached an agreement on a seven-year, $245 million deal with Stephen Strasburg, according to sources.

The deal is now the highest ever for a pitcher.

Strasburg was named the World Series MVP in October.

The right-hander opted out of the final four years of his previous contract with the Nationals and entered free agency.
