Howie Kendrick was named the MVP of the NLCS after helping the Washington Nationals make the World Series for the first time in 86 years.

"I can truly say this is the best time of my career, the best moment of my career this year," Kendrick said.

He has never played in the World Series during his 14-year career.

"When we were down and had a lot of players injured early on, Howie was the one big bat that carried us. He had such a magic season," Mike Rizzo said.
