The Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees and Houston Astros are battling for baseball's best record as the season wears down.

The clubs are tied in the loss column heading into Thursday's action.

During a recent appearance on Sean Salisbury's show on SportsTalk 790 in Houston, Jeff Luhnow said he expects the Astros to finish on top.

"Right now we're half a game behind L.A. for the best record in all of baseball, and I think we are going to pass them. I think we are going to pass the Yankees," the general manager said. "I think we are going to pass them because you just think about what we are putting out there every night."
