The New York Yankees are more likely to get Giancarlo Stanton back in August than July after straining the posterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.

Stanton was hurt Tuesday during an awkward headfirst slide into third base against the Toronto Blue Jays.

"I would say it's safer to look into August," Brian Cashman said. "I don't want to say it's unlikely in July, but the sweet spot would be August in terms of not getting burnt."

Stanton has only played in nine games this season due to injury.
