The New York Yankees announced on Saturday that James Paxton has been placed on the injured list with left knee inflammation.

An MRI on Saturday morning showed simple inflammation and no further issues. Paxton said he has been dealing with the soreness since the start of the season.

"It's something we've been managing the last little bit," Paxton said. "I don't really know why last game it was acting up more than in previous starts."

The left-hander has a 3.11 ERA, 52 strikeouts and 13 walks. He's the 13th player on New York's injured list.
