Kyler Murray announced via Twitter on Monday that he is entering his name into the NFL Draft.

The Oklahoma quarterback and reigning Heisman Trophy winner is giving himself the option to choose football over baseball. He has a contract with the Oakland Athletics that carries a $4.66 million signing bonus.

The A's picked Murray with the ninth pick in 2018.

Entering the NFL Draft will not preclude Murray from choosing baseball, but it does put additional pressure on Oakland to offer Murray a Major League contract with additional money in hopes of dissuading the outfield prospect from pursuing a football career.
