The Milwaukee Brewers made a trio of moves before midnight on Friday, acquiring Gio Gonzalez, Curtis Granderson and Xavier Cedeno.

The Brewers are looking to make the playoffs for the first time in seven years.

Milwaukee acquired Gonzalez from the Washington Nationals for catcher/first baseman KJ Harrison and infielder Gilbert Lara. They'll also absorb the $2 million left on the left-hander's contract.

Granderson comes over from the Toronto Blue Jays. The Brewers sent the Blue Jays outfielder Demi Orimoloy.

For Cedeno, Milwaukee sent outfielder Bryan Connell and reliever Johan Dominguez to the Chicago White Sox.
