Wil Myers has a cut on his nose after taking a ground ball to the face while practicing at his new position for the San Diego Padres.

Myers was fielding grounders at third base during batting practice Wednesday when a ball went over his glove and struck him. He fell to the dirt as teammates rushed in to check on him and he left the field holding a towel over his face with a trainer near his side.

He has made seven starts at third as the Padres continue to experiment with him at the position.

"He definitely took a hard one off the face. I don't know that he was ever pretty but he's definitely not pretty right now," Andy Green said. "Probably down [Thursday] and hope we can get him back in rhythm in L.A."
