The San Diego Padres were thought to be in rebuilding mode when they traded two relievers last week, but that may not be the case.

According to two reports, the Padres may be making a push to trade for Chris Archer or Noah Syndergaard.

Archer would make sense for San Diego with his team-friendly contract that pays him just $7.5 million next year with club options for 2021 ($9 million) and 2022 ($11 million).
