The Houston Astros have agreed to a five-year, $151 million contract extension with Jose Altuve, according to multiple reports.

Altuve had two years left on his deal prior to the agreement.

The contract is the largest in franchise history. The previous benchmark was a six-year, $100 million deal for Carlos Lee following the 2006 season.

Altuve is the sixth player in major league history to receive a contract worth $30 million-plus annually.
