If Melky Cabrera has his way, he'll finish out the season with the Chicago White Sox.

Cabrera is in the final season of his three-year, $42 million contract. The White Sox are rebuilding and the veteran could be a likely trade target leading up to the July 31 non-waiver deadline.

"I would like to finish the season here. I like Chicago," Cabrera said through his interpreter. "I like this team and I would like to stay here for a long time, not just until the end of the season. But I don't have control of those decisions."

Cabrera entered Sunday hitting .355 with seven home runs, 25 RBIs and 24 runs scored over his last 37 games.
