The Giants and outfielder Melvin Upton Jr. have agreed to a Minor League contract on Saturday, a source told's Mark Feinsand.

The club has not confirmed the deal, which is pending a physical.

Upton hit .238 with 20 homers and 61 RBIs split between the Padres and Blue Jays in 2016.

Upton is expected to report to Triple-A Sacramento, where he will join recently signed outfielder Drew Stubbs.
