Clayton Kershaw is considered the best pitcher of his generation and when it's all said and done he may be among the best of all-time.

The left-hander has allowed just 6.7956 hits per nine innings in his career, which ranks third all-time among pitchers with at least 1,000 innings pitched.

Only Nolan Ryan (6.5553) and Sandy Koufax (6.7916) allowed fewer hits per nine innings.

No other active pitcher ranks among the ten-best pitchers in the category, although recently-retired relievers Trevor Hoffman and Mariano Rivera are on the list.
