After nearly four months of negotiations that often produced frustration for both parties, the Orioles have moved closer to a contract extension with All-Star third baseman Melvin Mora , according to two club sources familiar with the negotiations. Though nothing appears imminent, the sides have made extensive progress in the past 48 hours on what is believed to be a three-year deal in the neighborhood of $26 million, said the sources. Orioles officials declined to comment and Mora's agent, Lon Babby, did not return a call.
