There is still a chance Braves rookie outfielder Jason Heyward will play in this month's All-Star Game despite his thumb injury. Heyward became the second-youngest player ever voted to start in an All-Star game when the lineups were announced Sunday. "I spoke with Frank [Wren] and he said if I felt comfortable that he didn't want to rule out the idea of playing right now, if all goes well with the thumb," said Heyward. "I get it out of the cast today. He said if all goes well, I'm free to play. It's all up to me and how I respond to treatment."
