Eric Gagne has decided to retire from the game of baseball, according to the French-Canadian website RueFrontenac.com. Gagne won the 2003 National League Cy Young award as the closer of the Dodgers and recorded 84 consecutive saves over parts of three seasons. He failed to complete a comeback with as a non-roster invitee to spring training. His legacy was sullied when his name showed up in the Mitchell Report on steroid use in baseball.
