The Dodgers have agreed in principle with outfielder Matt Kemp on a two-year contract.
The deal is believed to be worth a total of $10.95 million, plus up to $600,000 in possible incentive bonuses.
The agreement buys Kemp out of his first two winters of arbitration eligibility.
Los Angeles also avoided arbitration with right-hander Chad Billingsley, signing him to a one-year, $3.85 million contract.
