Dodgers hitting coach Don Mattingly wants to see fans be tougher on the team. "If a guy makes a mistake, they make a big deal out of it," Mattingly told the Los Angeles Times of the East Coast. "They don't let them off the hook like you do on the West Coast." He was then asked by T.J. Simers of the Times if he felt the media was too easy on the Dodgers as well. "I think you should be tougher on the players," Mattingly replied. "Be really hard on these guys."
