Stephen Strasburg went six innings, allowing three hits while striking out six as the Aztecs beat UC Davis 14-0 Friday before a crowd estimated at 4,000 fans at Petco Park as well as a dozen pro scouts. UC Davis attempted to get after Strasburg early in counts, which resulted to a relatively low strikeout total. His fastball was consistently 97 mph, occasionally reaching 99. "My stuff was only okay," Strasburg said. "There are going to be days like that. The key is to show up, work hard and work with the lead the guys gave me. "They were swinging early in the count, but I can't change my approach. Actually, early swings, balls put in play to the infielders is good. Fewer pitches keeps me in the game longer."
