The Cubs could look to trade pitcher Jason Marquis in order to sign free-agent designated hitter Milton Bradley. Chicago already knew they would have to reduce their payroll in order to trade for San Diego's Jake Peavy, and with talks stalled, they could shift their focus to making room for Bradley. Bradley hit .321 with personal highs of 22 homers and 77 RBIs with the Rangers last season. Texas manager Ron Washington has spoken to Cubs' personnel about Bradley, and Chicago hitting coach Gerald Perry knows Bradley from their days together with the Athletics.
