Willie Randolph still has a job as the manager of the Mets, for now, as reported by Yahoo.com. Randolph and GM Omar Minaya addressed the state of the underachieving ballclub at a news conference Monday afternoon. Randolph met with Mets' owner Fred Wilpon, COO Jeff Wilpon, and Minaya earlier in the day, leading to speculation that the embattled manager was in danger of being fired. Although Randolph still was the Mets? manager when the meeting ended, he revealed that the Wilpons did not guarantee his job security through the rest of the season. Minaya gave Randolph a vote of confidence at the news conference, which began shortly after the three-hour meeting ended.
