Jimmy Rollins extended his hitting streak to 35 games, tying for the ninth longest in major league history, by doubling on the first pitch of the Philadelphia Phillies' game against the Washington Nationals on Saturday. Rollins slapped a shot just inside the right-field line off John Patterson and easily made it to second. His streak matches Luis Castillo's 35-gamer in 2002 as the longest in the majors since 1987, when Paul Molitor hit safely in 39 consecutive games.
