Mark Wiley was named Florida's new pitching coach Friday afternoon, ending a month-long search to replace Rick Kranitz. A few weeks ago Kranitz, who turned down an opportunity to return, was hired as the Orioles' pitching coach. In 2005, Wiley was Florida's pitching coach under manager Jack McKeon. That season, Dontrelle Willis paced the Major Leagues in victories with 22. But when Joe Girardi was named manager in 2006, Kranitz was brought in as the pitching coach. For the past two seasons, Wiley served as a special assistant for baseball operations in the Rockies' organization.
