"It's all over. He's gone," Hank Steinbrenner jokingly told a handful of reporters who had staked out the team's hotel since the morning. Not that there was much for Steinbrenner to say. "No decisions have been made on anything -- on anything -- yet," Hank added. That includes the matter of primary concern -- Joe Torre's job -- as well as which players, most notably Alex Rodriguez, will be back next season. Hank said he and his younger brother, Hal, will join the family today in Tampa, where Yankees' meetings will take place later this week. Hank emphasized that the family is excited about the Yankees' future, especially because of the young pitching talent, and wasn't so much disappointed by elimination as optimistic for what's to come in the next several years. The only question, of course, is if Torre will be around for it. "Well, (Torre's) record speaks for itself," Hank said. "But nothing lasts forever; you don't know one way or another. But no decision has been made, period. It really hasn't."
