Justin Morneau of the Twins was diagnosed with a lung contusion after a collision at home plate with Marlins catcher Miguel Olivo on Friday. Morneau was coughing up blood after suffering an injury to his upper right chest after running into Olivo in the eighth inning. Minnesota manager Ron Gardenhire described the play as a "a scary incident." "He had nowhere to go. He just had to try to go through with him. It wasn't a violent collision but obviously it just hit right in a bad spot, kind of an unprotected place." Morneau was taken by ambulance to hospital where the lung injury was diagnosed and he will remain overnight.
