The Los Angeles Angels are cautiously optimistic that Shohei Ohtani will play again this season, at least as a hitter and possibly as a pitcher as well.
Ohtani was placed on the disabled list last week with a Grade 2 ulnar collateral ligament sprain in his right throwing elbow.
There were reports that Ohtani may need Tommy John surgery and that his season would be over.
