Tony La Russa is on the short list of candidates to become the next president of the Seattle Mariners, according to two sources.
La Russa declined to specifically address Seattle's vacancy.
The Mariners hope to name a new president within the next three weeks. Outgoing president Chuck Armstrong will leave the club on Jan. 31.
