Torii Hunter was bruised and bloodied after trying to make a play on David Ortiz's grand slam on Sunday night, but he wouldn't have it any other way.

"This is the postseason," Hunter said after Game 2. "I'd die on the field for this. You're not going to take me off this field."

Hunter crashed headfirst over the right-field wal in the eighth inning. Hunter went down hard and came out only after teammates had waved for the Detroit medical staff to come help him.

"I was trying my best to just stop that ball from going over the fence," Hunter said. "I'd sacrifice my body if I have to. I've done that my whole career."
